Synchronized to sound events, numerous laser dots moved slowly over the fabric object in this installation, creating variable laser patterns. An object made of transparent fabric, a total of 120 meters of fabric were necessary for this, was fixed in the middle of the room above the heads of the visitors.
The shape of the fabric object was determined according to previous mathematical calculations (spline interpolation). This ensured that the soft fabric would fall down in uniform arcs to form a curved structure.
The mathematical shape of an arc is a “spline”.
