On November 9th 2014, the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall, a big peoples’ party was held at the Brandenburg Gate under the motto “courage for freedom”. Numerous prominent figures from arts and politics also participated in the event. The party program includes live music, artistic performances, video and laser projections and talks about the historical meaning of the 9th of November.
The Brandenburg Gate a former symbol of the German partition shone in various facets during the evening’s program, with lasers also playing their part. Accompanied by the 4th movement of Ludwig van Beethoven’s 9th symphony, performed by the Staatskapelle Berlin under Daniel Barenboim, laser projections were used to emphasize the neo-classical style of the famous building.
