Every year on August 9, the Republic of Singapore celebrates its National Day with a large military parade as well as extensive show performances.
As a highlight of the National Day 2011 celebrations, there were impressive laser projections on the skyscrapers of the “Marina Bay” venue on the evening of August 9, followed by fireworks.
A special challenge for this laser application was the distances from the laser source to the projection surface, which ranged from 900 to 1200 meters. The laser projectors were equipped with a special collimator to reduce beam divergence. This made the use over these long distances unproblematic.
