Monolake Live Modena 20232024

Monolake Live Modena 20232024 was a captivating site-specific performance that took place on December 31, 2023 in the heart of the Italian city of Modena and was certainly one of the highlights of the year. The 90 meter long and 17 meter high façade of the former Sant’Agostino hospital is currently shrouded in white scaffolding as the entire building is currently being converted into a cultural center. The construction served as a projection surface. The event was a free open-air event with sound and laser graphics by well-known artist Robert Henke. The laser graphics were combined and coordinated with several new pieces of music. The 60-minute audiovisual composition ended exactly at midnight. In the last minute of the year 2023, the laser graphics gradually transformed into a real-time display consisting of time, date and year and finally showed the change from 2023 to 2024 and the time from 23:59:59 to 00:00:00. The work was commissioned by the NODE Festival and attracted more than 6000 visitors. The lasers were supplied by LaserAnimation Sollinger.
