LaserAnimation Sollinger GmbH has acquired another leading manufacturer of the show laser industry: Ray Technologies GmbH. Ray Technologies better known by its brand RTI, and LaserAnimation Sollinger complement each other both in product portfolio, market segments, research and development.
How did this acquisition come about?
Both LaserAnimation Sollinger and Ray Technologies are internationally well known in the show and event industry. Both companies are widely regarded as highly innovative and stand for powerful, high-quality laser systems. The two production sites in Bavaria and Berlin are staffed by highly specialized employees with many years of experience, who ensure the high quality of the products “Made in Germany” through precision and routine work processes. LaserAnimation Sollinger is ISO-certified and it will also continue this high quality level in the new company union.
The demanding customers of both laser manufacturers are similar, but cover different market segments in the high-end sector. The merger will lead to an even broader coverage in the professional market. In addition, resources and synergies can be shared as a result of the fusion. These effects are enormous, especially in the field of R&D, which supports the development of the product range and it also enables completely new product segments. A new business unit in the field of special effects lighting has already been established and is working on some groundbreaking projects for the show industry.
Both locations will be kept, as well as all existing jobs, which has now already increased the number of employees to about 40. Additional employees are currently being recruited for newly created jobs.
The focus and concentration on customers who are operating in the premium laser segment is easier through the integration of Ray Technologies into LaserAnimation Sollinger.
LaserAnimation Sollinger’s product range has always been aimed exclusively at customers working in the highly professional show, art or design segment. The expansion with Ray Technologies was therefore a directional, strategic decision to reach an even broader positioning in the show laser market. “A joint path strengthens both brands in the high-end laser market and enables new developments in various product areas,” explains Michael Sollinger, founder and CEO of LaserAnimation Sollinger GmbH.
Together united
The new number one on the market has already completed initial optimizations in its organizational workflows. More will follow, so the takeover will soon be completed operationally. Production will continue smoothly and without any interruptions. In addition to the location in Bavaria, all employees and trademark rights were taken over from Ray Technologies GmbH. The company was completely merged into LaserAnimation Sollinger GmbH. Within LaserAnimation Sollinger GmbH, the two brands LaserAnimation and RTI will be continued with the corresponding product series.
The first joint developments have already been successfully completed, like for example, the RTI ANGO, which was recently presented to the public for the first time at prolight+sound 2022. The RTI ANGO is a high-power laser effect with xy moving mirror and with impressively high visibility. It can be used as architectural special lighting outdoors, as a sky or landmark laser.
